My wife said I needed a hobby.....so imagine my surprise when I showed her a picture of a kit car, and said "Let me build this.."......and she said "I think that's a great idea!" So this blog is a chronicle of my efforts to piece together a Birkin S3 Clubman, and a tribute to my wife's patience and understanding.

Hi Scott,
ReplyDeleteThe fuel cap looks great, where abouts did you pick that up from?
Cheers
Phil
Hi Phil,
ReplyDeleteThe Aero cap came from CBS Online in the UK. I had it added to an order with all the dash lights and switches. It is brushed alloy and has an optional ULP flap. The original Birkin one leaks and this one looks great as well. Cost was under $150. We have also bought a black one for another Birkin. The black one would look great on your white shell with the black wheels.
cheers
Scott
Black is exactly what I was thinking. Might have to investigate it a bit further as I need some dasH switches aswell. What size did you go with?
ReplyDeleteCheers
Phil
Hi Phil,
ReplyDeleteThis is the Aero cap link http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/product/94mm_Locking_Aero_Fuel_Cap_Assembly_Black_AERO3B. I used a 51mm flexible hose on this to the tank.
My switchgear for lights, wipers, hazard and demister were these ones http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/product/IVA_Rocker_Switch_2_Speed_Wiper_RSVAWIP
The Birkin dash was already cut to fit this size. I will dig out the photo of the black Aero cap fitted to another Birkin and send you a PM on OzClubbies
cheers
Scott
